AHA Healthcare Provider BLS HeartCode CPR

Notes: The class date is for the in-person skill check portion of a BLS HeartCode® class. You must complete the BLS HeartCode® prior to the class and bring the certificate of completion with you or e-mail it to the training center.

This class is all inclusive and is a blend of online class and in person skills testing. The keycode link to begin the online class is included and the student then comes in with a certificate of completion and performs a skills session with a certified instructor.

Price includes Skills Evaluation.

We are located at 185 Wahconah St on the second floor. Please access the classroom from the glass door that faces Wahconah St with the County logo on it. There may be as many as 4 students in your Skills Evaluation, plan for 60-90 minutes of instruction/testing. Please wear comfortable clothing as we may perform skills on the floor.

Basic Life Support (BLS)

The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Who should take this course?

The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

What does this course teach?

High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants

  • The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
  • Important early use of an AED
  • Effective ventilations using a barrier device
  • Importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR
  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

 Note:  The dates listed are for the Skills Evaluation portion of the course.  Completion of the BLS HeartCode is required prior to the Skills Evaluation.  Please email your HeartCode certificate to cpr@countyamb.com or present a copy at the start of class.  If there is no proof of completion, you will be rescheduled into another class until proof of completion is obtained.  County Ambulance is not responsible for incorrect enrollment.
